Program Description
Through Red Cross Shravasti, a program was launched to provide 32 thousand 565 devices free of cost to a total of 5237 beneficiaries identified under Vayoshree and Adip Scheme.

Shravasti, February 15, 2024. S.V. Under District Disabled Rehabilitation Center Shravasti and Adip Scheme of the Government of India, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Kanpur and Indian Red Cross Society, is providing artificial limbs and assistive devices to the beneficiaries of Adip and Vayoshree Scheme of the district. A grand event was organized at the Tathagat Hall located at the Collectorate. It was inaugurated by Honorable MP Ram Shiromani Verma, Honorable Member of Legislative Council Dr. Pragya Tripathi, Honorable MLA Shravasti Ramferan Pandey, Honorable District President Uday Prakash Tripathi, District Magistrate Krutika Sharma, Superintendent of Police Ghanshyam Chairasia, Deputy Commandant S.S.B. Nirupesh and lighting of the island by officials from Alimco Kanpur. The tax was launched. During this, Honorable MP, Honorable Member of the Legislative Council, Honorable MLA, Honorable District President, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, a total of 5237 beneficiaries of 4919 Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana and 318 Adip Yojana, previously identified through the testing camp jointly organized by District Disabled Rehabilitation Center and ALIMCO Kanpur, A program was launched to provide 32 thousand 565 devices free of cost. Under which today assistive devices were distributed to 318 identified beneficiaries of Adip Yojana and 1877 identified beneficiaries of Vayoshree Yojana. Which includes equipment like motorized tricycle, BTE (hearing aid), tricycle, accessible cane, folding wheel chair, smart phone, crutches, walking stick, rollator and other artificial limbs and callipers etc. During this program, Chief Guest, Honorable Union Minister, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Dr. Virendra Kumar and special guest, Honorable Minister of State for Food, Logistics and Civil Supplies, Satish Chandra Sharma also addressed the program through virtual medium.
On this occasion, the Honorable MP said in his address that today the largest number of artificial limbs and equipment is being distributed to the disabled people in the entire country. This commendable work is being done for the disabled with the help of Alimco. In which more than 25 types of equipment are being distributed. This will definitely provide convenience to the disabled people in their daily life and make their life easier.
  On this occasion, the Honorable MLA said in his address that the country and the state government are committed to the upliftment of the disabled. Under which the government is benefiting the disabled people by running various schemes in the interest of the disabled people. To help the disabled people of the district, artificial and assistive devices are being distributed to them today. Due to which they will get ease in their daily life. He said that today a program of distribution of free artificial limbs and assistive devices has been organized for the disabled people. Due to which there will be a change in their standard of living and they will be able to do their work with ease.
Honorable District President said that with the help of Alimco Kanpur and the District Administration, working under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, today artificial limbs and assistive devices are being distributed to the persons with disabilities. This will help the disabled people to perform daily tasks in their life.
On this occasion, the District Magistrate said in his address that I welcome other honorable public representatives, officials and common people from far-flung areas who have come for this historic program. I would like to tell you all that Indian Red Cross Society, Shravasti has been setting new records for the last years. He said that with the inspiration of the Honorable Prime Minister and under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, last year, after the identification camp organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in the month of May and June last year, assistive devices worth Rs. 2 crores were distributed by Alimco. . After this, by organizing identification camps under the National Vayoshri Program at the CHC/PHC of each block in the month of November-December, assistive devices are again being distributed to the disabled people. Under which today, by organizing a series of camps through ALIMCO, distribution of 32 thousand 565 artificial limbs and assistive devices has been started to a total of 5237 beneficiaries of 4919 Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana and 318 Adip Yojana, which will be distributed in all the blocks of the district by February 19, 2024. These will be distributed by organizing special camps. This program for the disabled is unique in a district without any fiscal budget. He said that the District Disabled Rehabilitation Center, operated in a dedicated building of the District Hospital, has a special contribution in social justice programs, especially for the disabled. He urged all the disabled people to visit DDRC once and take advantage of the facilities being provided. This includes identification, therapy and head care for the disabled.
