Program Description
Today, on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, 24 March 2022, on the call of Red Cross State President and Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel, District Magistrate Shri Kaushal Raj Sharma, taking a noble initiative, campaigned for the adoption of TB patients by voluntary organizations to help Tuberculosis patients in Varanasi. Inaugurating the nutrition packet distribution program.
On the initiative of DM, Red Cross Society adopted 832 TB patients. Today, on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, District Magistrate Shri Kaushal Raj Sharma, while launching the Poshan Potli Distribution Scheme at District Rifle Club, distributed nutrition bundles to 25 TB patients on behalf of Red Cross.
The District Magistrate said that under this new scheme, all about 2800 active TB patients of the district would be given free medicines under the DOTS scheme as well as nutrition packets from other organizations including Red Cross Society for their better health.
Red Cross Secretary Dr. Sanjay Rai informed that on the noble initiative of the District Magistrate, all the adopted TB patients are being given nutrition packets, in which healthy nutritious food items are gram, lye, jaggery, porridge, groundnut, milk biscuits etc.
