Nutrition Packets Were Distributed To 50 Tuberculosis Patients

Program Description

Indian Red Cross Society, Lucknow branch, today adopted 50 tuberculosis (TB) patients and provided them with nutritious food kits.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh / Chairman, Red Cross Uttar Pradesh, personally distributed the nutrition kits to the patients.

The Hon’ble Minister appeared concerned upon learning about a young girl suffering from TB and directed the Chief Medical Officer to visit the locality where the girl resides and ensure whether there are more such patients, so that they can also be identified and given timely treatment. Timely medication and nutritious food should be provided.
TB patients do not recover with medicines alone — attention must also be paid to nutritious diet, cleanliness, and other factors.
"I am thankful to the Indian Red Cross Society for adopting 50 TB patients and providing them with nutritious food support," he said.

“TB elimination is the Government’s top priority. Such efforts by organizations like the Red Cross Society increase awareness and promote a spirit of cooperation in society.
Through such collective efforts, we will be able to achieve the Prime Minister’s goal of ‘TB-Free India’ ahead of time.”

Chairman Shri O.P. Pathak stated, “The Red Cross Society is working with the spirit of service and cooperation.”
Secretary Shri Amarnath Mishra informed that “20 stretchers have been donated to the Society by social worker Shri Nitin Jain.”
Today, 20 stretchers and 10 wheelchairs were handed over by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister to the Chief Medical Officer, Lucknow, on behalf of the Society so that necessary facilities can reach the needy patients.

Red Cross has always been committed to humanitarian service and will continue to work for the welfare of society in the future as well.
The adopted patients will be provided nutritious food kits regularly for six months or until they are healthy.

Today’s programme was mainly attended by O.P. Pathak, Amarnath Mishra, Naveen Gupta, Anurag Mishra, Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Charu Mishra, Kush Mishra, Manish Shukla, Roop Kumar Sharma, Kartika Mathur, Amit Agrawal, Ranjit Singh, Majid Ali, Nafees Ahmad, along with many other dignitaries.
