Free eye test and cataract operation camp conducted by Red Cross Society, Varanasi

120 people underwent eye test in the camp

12 patients underwent free cataract operation

76 people were treated with medicines

On 3 February 2025, Monday, free eye test and cataract operation was conducted by Indian Red Cross Society in collaboration with RJ Shankara Eye Hospital at Red Cross Society office Beniabagh Varanasi.

Red Cross Society Varanasi Secretary Dr Sanjay Rai said that 12 cataract patients found after examination in the eye camp were immediately registered and admitted to RJ Shankara Eye Hospital Harhua for free cataract operation, where their treatment was started today and operation was also done. Free arrangement was made to take the selected patients to the hospital by bus. Today, free cataract operations were conducted on Puja Devi, Rajkumari Devi, Shri Chand Yadwani, Anil Kumar, Raj Kumar Tolani, Kanhaiya Lal Agarwal, Mahendra Goyal, Ajay Sharma, Ram Singh Yadav, Bhanu Swaroop, Meera and Kewalpatti Devi.

Other patients who came to the camp were treated with medicines. The needy were given glasses numbers and they will also be given free glasses.

Red Cross Secretary Dr. Sanjay Rai, Vijay Shah, Dr. S.S. Ganguly, Vedamurthy Shastri, J.P. Balani, Shri Bhal Shastri, Kamal Kishore Tiwari, Ram Gopal Tripathi, Ajit Bajaj, Satish Rai, Vinay Yadav, Rohit Balani, Bimal Tripathi, Yugal Chandra and other Red Cross members actively contributed in today's eye camp.
